Precision Technic Defence appoints Thorbjørn Machholm as Group CEO
Precision Technic Defence is pleased to announce the appointment of Thorbjørn Machholm as Chief Executive Officer
“It’s incredibly exciting to be part of this ambitious organisation. We’re entering a defining new chapter, with substantial opportunities on the horizon – both nationally and globally,” says Thorbjørn Machholm.
A life abroad and senior leadership positions
Educated in France and Denmark, Thorbjørn studied at ESCP Business School and Université Paris‑Dauphine (PSL) and holds a Master’s degree from Copenhagen Business School (CBS). He has completed the Stanford Executive Programme at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, complementing further executive education in governance, strategy, and leadership.
With a career spanning senior roles in defence and industrial technology, the new Group CEO brings extensive experience in strategy, commercial execution and international leadership. At Terma, he most recently served as Senior Vice President in Support & Services, following earlier positions as Senior Director & Senior Strategy Advisor to the corporate C‑suite.
Prior to Terma, he held group director roles at Grundfos across innovation, business development and global sales, and earlier served in regional leadership at Danfoss. His early experience includes assignments with the Trade Council at the Danish Embassy in France, a commercial role at Apple University Centre in Copenhagen, and a business venture in Southeast Asia.
“It’s crucial that we don’t become complacent”
Outlining his priorities for the months ahead, Machholm refers to a defined strategy and a skilled organisation as key elements to maintaining the current momentum.
“Our strategy is in place, and we have the talent and capabilities to deliver on it. My remit is to help shape the initiatives within it and bring my expertise to bear, so we can maintain our strong momentum and stay ahead of competition.”
“Despite very good results for 2025, it’s crucial that we don’t become complacent. We have to keep chasing the customer and stay in an entrepreneurial mindset to continuously cater our solutions to the changing needs of our customers – especially at a time like this.”
Thorbjørn will spend the first couple of weeks primarily at the headquarters before venturing on to meet our customers and partners in person.
“I’m genuinely curious about the dynamics of each department and how each employee approaches their work. It’s these day‑to‑day efforts that drive the company forward, and it’s our role in the leadership team to give everyone at the company the best possible conditions for success.”
“Coming from a background in defence and industrial technology, I’m very excited to meet our customers and talk about the application of our solutions. I’m equally excited to meet our valued manufacturing partners who create the foundation for our products.”
